Tisch School of Arts requires several things for and undergraduate course. The first thing are two contemporary monologues. However they permit classical monologues if the person is comfortable with these type. Each monologue has under two minutes in length. No costumes, props, or accents are permitted during the performance. The monologues are striclty from a play no a film or a TV series.  They person has to choose a role that is from their age. They also require a resumé and a current photo of you. They also request you to have a conversation with the person who is evaluating you. For the graduate program you also have various things you have to present. The require four monologues, two classical and two contemporary. Each have to be less than two minutes in length and have to be of dramatic or comedic content. You will only perform two monologues. The other two are backups, just i in case the evaluator asks for additional material. You also have to be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song acapella which is also additional material. They recommend that the monologues you choose are very different and you have the ability to embody a different character for each one.
